Housed in 10,000 square feet of renovated warehouse space at the intersection of 17th and Smallman streets, Mahla & Co Antiques opened its doors in 1995. The shop is family owned and operated like many businesses in Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District. Owner Sue Cosgrove’s mother, entrepreneur Elizabeth Mahla, started the business hoping an Antique Shop would be a wonderful addition to the eclectic Strip businesses. Twenty five years later and still going strong proves she was right!

With 20 knowledgeable Antique Dealers displaying their inventory throughout the showroom, the selection is as varied as it’s customers. At any given time, over 50,000 items  representing a cross section of eras from the 17th through 20th centuries adorn the warehouse. Furniture, fine and decorative art, lighting, carpets, china & glass, jewelry, vintage clothing and numismatic rarities are just a few examples of the fabulous merchandise available.

The past can be one of our greatest assets if we are able to incorporate it into our daily, modern lives! The quality and construction of antique, mid century modern and vintage furnishings and accessories cannot be duplicated today. These decorative pieces were built to last, and the passage of time has validated this. In designing domestic spaces today utilize furnishings from the past while preserving our resources… this in turn will reduce our impact on the environment. Sustainability for a greener tomorrow!
